ROUND 1 OF JUNIOR RUGBY LEAGUE DONE AND DUSTED
With round one of the junior rugby league season done and dusted it is an opportune time to acknowledge the many volunteers who worked behind the scenes to ensure that our boys and girls took to the field last weekend.
Whether it be our coaches, team managers, trainers or committee members who all volunteer their valuable time – thank you for your efforts.
A special shoutout to Mel who ensured each of our teams were kitted out – a huge time consuming and often thankless task.
What many people would not realise is that our playing gear order has to go to the supplier in September to ensure the kit is received from overseas prior to the season kick-off. Sizing is based upon previous registrations and then approved by the junior league. It is difficult to forsee sizing six months out for new players of all ages.
The pre-season as usual presented many challenges and tasks which had to be resolved and we appreciate the patience and understanding of everyone.
We are still accepting new boys and girls for our Under 5, 9 and 10 teams so it is not too late if you know someone who has a child who would like to play footy in 2026. A couple of extras will make all the difference to these teams going forward so if you can spread the word, it would be much appreciated.
Bye for now.
