MAROUBRA UNDER 16S’ ACKNOWLEDGE MULTICULTURAL ROUND
Last weekend was the NRL Multicultural Round showcasing the diversity of backgrounds involved in the great game of rugby league. Our Under 16 Team alone comprises players from a wide range of family backgrounds such as the Philippines, Greece, Portugal, Morocco, United States, Cook Islands and Tonga. The Lions as a footy club have many more players of various family cultural backgrounds all of whom contribute to what makes us such a great community sporting organisation. As the start of the footy season approaches, we are excited to share some significant updates regarding our female program. We are thrilled to announce that Richmond Saliba will be leading our female program as the Pathways Development Coach. In addition to his role as Pathways Development Coach, Richmond will serve as the Head Coach for our U16s team. A great rollup to our Maroubra Lions Past Players and Officials reunion at Henry’s @ The Juniors last Saturday afternoon. This was the seventh reunion and the numbers are on the increase with some former Lions who travelled considerable distances to attend to catch up and share plenty of memories. Our thanks to the Juniors Kingsford for hosting us.
