A great rollup to our Maroubra Lions Past Players and Officials reunion at Henry’s @ The Juniors last Saturday afternoon. This was the seventh reunion and the numbers are on the increase with some former Lions who travelled considerable distances to attend to catch up and share plenty of memories. The Maroubra Rugby League Football Club wish to advise the recent passing of Rodney Blanch after an extended illness. Rod was a longstanding Lions past player, team official and club supporter. He was also involved in the fundraising for the club and senior teams to undertake end of season trips away. In addition to his long involvement with the Maroubra footy club he was also a supporter of the South Maroubra Surf Club for many years. “Rocket Rod” was a larger than life character who contributed much to the Lions – he will be missed by...
