Last Saturday afternoon we had a great Maroubra Lions Rugby league club Past Players and Officials Christmas reunion. Approximately 60-70 former players, officials and supporters turned up at Henry’s bar at The Juniors Kingsford. Our club was able to contribute to the refreshments on the day in recognition of our Past Players and Officials. A great start to a Super Sunday of Grand Final action at Redfern Oval with our Mighty Under 13s’ up against the Concord-Burwood Wolves. With an error in the first play the ball the Lions were under the pump however their defence held firm as the Wolves tried to break through. Against the run of play Ariki ran across field before scorching down the sideline leaving defenders in his wake to score a long range try.
