MAROUBRA RLFC REPRESENTED AT NRL COACHING CONFERENCE

MAROUBRA LIONS RLFC REPRESENTED AT RECENT NRL NATIONAL COACHING CONFERENCE @ ANZ STADIUM

The National Coaching Conference is Rugby League’s largest professional development opportunity for coaches of all levels of the game.

Whether they coach at local junior rugby league clubs or are involved in elite programs, the conference enabled everyone with the opportunity to learn, network, and develop themselves further as coaches.

In addition to a number of keynote presentations, practical workshops focused on how coaches can develop the competence, confidence, connection and character of their players. Topics include:

The Maroubra RLFC had three representatives attend the conference, being our Junior Coaching Co-ordinator Chris Locke along with junior coaches Paul Israel & Danny Jones.

The workshops attended by our representatives over the weekend included such topics as –

Engaging and Working with Parents

Teaching Players how to Attack

Game Day Warm Up

Teaching Players to Tackle and Land Effectively

Training Based Games

Activities to Develop Team Defence

All sessions were well received

Our coaches look forward to passing on the skills learnt from the conference onto our fellow Lions junior coaches prior to the commencement of the new season.

Thank you to Club President Andrew Nikas & the committee for their continued support of our Junior Coach Education.
