LIONS VOLUNTEER RECOGNISED WITH COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD

Congratulations to our very own Georgie Israel who was acknowledged at the recent Kingsford Smith Community Service Awards.

These awards are an initiative of our Federal Member (and also former Lions junior as well as Maroubra RLFC club patron) Matthew Thistlethwaite MP & his electorate staff.

These awards recognise the work our exceptional local volunteers within the Kingsford Smith electorate whose untiring efforts often goes unseen & unrecognised.

Georgie who has been our Club Vice President for the past two years & for many families is the first point of contact when they are looking for their child to come & play junior rugby league.

Her approachable manner & can do attitude to a range of issues is most appreciated by those within the Maroubra Lions family.

Georgie’s was unable to attend the awards function at the Randwick Community Centre as by chance it happens that she was volunteering to coach a girls sporting team.

Her award was accepted on her behalf from Matt Thistlethwaite MP by our Assistant Club Secretary Chris Locke.

Once again we at the Maroubra RLFC congratulate Georgie on this community recognition & thank Matt along with his team for their ongoing support of volunteers within the community.
